Kintsugi Discovery Workshop

This workshop is tailored for those with minimal or no experience in Kintsugi, who are enthusiastic about learning to restore damaged items using traditional Kintsugi methods. During the session, you will have the opportunity to repair chips or small breaks (ceramic should not be broken into several pieces). DURATION Four sessions of 90 min PRICE 39 000 yens WHAT IS INCLUDED All traditional crafting materials and tools, including brushes, urushi lacquers, lacquer mix powders, sanding materials, and various powdered metals (such as brass and aluminum), are provided during workshop. If you would like to use gold for your finishing touches, I can supply it for an additional fee due to its variable and high market price. You can decide on the metal you will use for restoration on-site. WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED Gold or silver powders, ceramics to be repaired. WHAT TO BRING For this workshop, I suggest bringing a few ceramic pieces that have chips or minor breaks (please ensure the objects are not in multiple fragments). Repairing significant missing parts or restoring a completely broken item requires more advanced techniques and time, which may not be feasible within the workshop duration. However, you can begin repairing these items during the workshop and attend a few additional sessions, or choose to participate in the advanced Kintsugi workshop. You can also bring a long sleeve shirt to protect yourself from urushi as well as magnifying glasses if you have.
